The Absence of MacBook Air's Wedge: A Nostalgic Reflection
Reflecting on the End of the MacBook Air's Wedge Era
When Apple opted for a more conventional design with the M2 MacBook Air, bidding farewell to the iconic wedge shape, I found myself torn. Was it sacrilege to abandon such an iconic design element? Perhaps. Yet, with the M1 Air still available, the wedge lived on in some form.
But now, with the introduction of the M3 Air, the wedge has been officially retired. As a longtime fan, this marks the end of an era, leaving me feeling somewhat empty.
Admittedly, the absence of the wedge doesn't diminish the performance of the newer Air models. I can attest to this firsthand, owning a 15-inch M2 MacBook Air. It's sleek, powerful, and boasts impressive battery life—all at a reasonable price. These qualities have always defined the Air, wedge or no wedge."
